This was a really fun Fall meal. I realize a lot of people don’t care for burssel sprouts but this is a wonderful way to prepare them that makes a tremendous meal. Who knows, once you try this dish you may reconsider your disdain for brussel sprouts. It really is good and my kids (granted they’re all grown now) will even eat this. Coq au vin is one of those quintessential French dishes that is so popular that virtually every French family has its own coq au vin recipe. Although I’m by no means French, this is one of my favorite meals and this is my version of coq au vin. It made for a stunningly delicious meal the other night. I’ve been dying to make this dish. It’s such a great dish, perfect for those of you having cold weather and needing something that will warm you all the way through. So, I got tired of waiting for colder climate and made it anyway. We had a 13 F drop in temperature all the way from 88 F down to 75 F so we pretended we had a cold snap. This is a wonderful Fall meal with our fresh little pomegranate jewels. Doesn’t this look delicious? Baby Lady wanted her portion of the meal shown in the header so you can see she picked out the carrots. They’re the little blurry orange things tucked behind the good looking drumstick. She absolutely hates cooked carrots and picks them out of any meal in which they are served. I, on the other hand, thought they went beautifully with the meal but I digress.
