Smoked Salmon Pizza

Baby Lady has been asking me what is the rhyme or reason as to why I post the recipes I post. Of course, there is none. I post what I feel like posting but she wanted me to post another Jacque Pepin recipe she loves. It’s a recipe for Smoked Salmon (aka Gravlax) Pizza. This is a wonderful appetizer that your guests will absolutely love. Even better, it’s simple, simple, simple. It would even make a nice light lunch. We have served this to many of our guests and have shared the recipe with several of our friends. All the responses are very positive.

Ingredients

  • Lavash (a thin, soft flatbread popular in Turkey, Iran, and other Middle Eastern countries)
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 2 Tbsp horseradish
  • Cracked pepper/freshly ground
  • Sliced Red Onion (1/3 onion)
  • ½ lb smoked salmon
  • 1 Tbsp Capers
  • 1/4 cup chopped Cilantro or Basil

Instructions

Toast the lavash in the oven until crisp.  Mix the sour cream, horseradish and cracked ground pepper in a small bowl.  Spread the sour cream mixture on the lavash.  Layer on the onions, capers and smoked salmon. Finish by sprinkling the chopped Cilantro or Basil on top. Cut into squares and serve. Serve and Enjoy. (Serves 6)

Baby Lady likes to put Black Olives on it when she fixes it for a little added color and some additional depth of flavor.
